My best friend/former roommate and his wife are in the process of buying a house, and they asked me to rent part of it for the same price I'm renting my apartment for now. The best part? A two-car garage, which I'm free to use any old time I want. Say hello to finally working on my car because I don't have to haul a hundred pounds of tools downstairs and leave them in the street if I have to hit the john. Woohoo! (Garage NOT pictured)

They're not moving in until May, and my lease isn't up until July. Also, if you come to the party, you have to help me track down oil and brake leaks.

That sounds awesome! Be careful of the approach angle of the garage, I can't fit my FRS in mine during the winter because the soil under the lip expands. It ends up scraping the undercarriage if I try to make it in.
(Also side note, sorry to threadjack, I saw the porsche). Remember that 911 Turbo that was posted on the front page that was the "deal of the century"? Yeah, it's currently bid at 56,000. Holy shit I never thought it'd go for that much. Can you make another post to update Oppo? (I don't have post rights yet).

But it's in a GARAGE. Put on some jams, drink Mountain Dew, and fumble around car repairs until 3am. What better party could you imagine?

Fine! You can bring your chocolate milk! Just make sure it's not expired like last time!

Did you do an actual spark test? You can also check the fuel pressure. If you loosen the intake fitting on the fuel filter and turn the key over to on, the priming fuel pump should spray gas out. Other than that, it's probably a timing or ECU issue, unless your air filter is completely clogged or there's something stuffed in your exhaust pipe.

Maybe an ignition control module.

Exhaust and intake filter are clear. Spark test was a screw driver in the plug and key to on, saw a spark. Will be doing fuel test once I get the pump back in.
Any ideas for the timing or ECU fixes or tests?

Do you know of a way to test it?

I'm afraid not. I've only ever been able to test ECUs and ICMs by plugging new ones in and trying. The trouble is, they're usually expensive and nonrefundable after installation. You could try junkyard parts. You might check the OBDII for codes, too.

Thanks for the help. We can go get a cheap code reader. Also going to do a compression test.

No prob, Bob. A compression test would be a good idea, too. Just saw this on the Deals post. http://www.ebay.com/itm/3214579845…

If you have an Android phone/tablet, you can get the Torque app for free and it will give you the codes.
